Reducing the Stigma and Supporting Mental Wellbeing
COVID-19, lockdowns and the subsequent working from home has affected us all very differently, and while lockdown restrictions have lifted, the pandemic continues to have an impact on our lives.
It’s hugely important to us that we support our staff during these times – and beyond – and we’re thrilled to be a part of WPP’s Mental Health Allies programme. The programme is available to all 10,000 UK staff and aims to reduce the stigma around mental health by encouraging open conversations. More than 250 Allies volunteered from across WPP’s agencies and received training from Mental Health at Work, and we will be training some of our team to become Allies in a future cohort. They will act as a mental health resource to our colleagues, listening, signposting and helping to keep people feeling supported and healthy.
This great resource runs alongside LifeWorks, our very own Employee Assistance Programme (EAP). LifeWorks supports our employees and their families so they can manage work, health and life challenges with access to a whole host of tools, support and solutions via a dedicated app.
It’s been a remarkably challenging 18 months, but we look onwards and upwards by ensuring mental wellbeing is a priority for everyone.
