Clarion Hosts Better Bankside Women’s Network
We were delighted to collaborate with Better Bankside this week to host a bunch of talented women from the neighbouring area in the latest Better Bankside Women’s Network event.
It was certainly networking with a view from our bar in Rose Court. And there were some super insightful talks on flexible working from Louise Lawrence from Winckworth Sherwood LLP, Nikki Sandham from Recorra, and Claire Walker from Society of London Theatre & UK Theatre, who spoke about everything from legal rights to work flexibly to personal experience of only working term time, or job sharing.
Flexible working forms the fabric of Clarion. It’s why we have remote working three days a week, ‘Choose-days’, where staff can choose the hours they work, and benefits like the option to work part-time (an offer taken up by a number of parents in the team), work from abroad and take sabbaticals. But there’s always more we can learn. Here’s a couple of top tips we took from the speakers:
- Set clear parameters – while the team appreciate the option to work flexibly, it’s important to make sure there are clear guidelines in place. It’s certainly something we have at Clarion
- What works for you might not work for your colleague – being mindful and understanding of team members’ lives both inside and outside of work is a must
- And finally, communication, communication, communication – sounds like we’re in the right industry!
