Cater-pulting Aldi Into a Media Frenzy
The Challenge
Following a ‘trademark feud’ with rival M&S, Aldi’s unassuming Cuthbert the Caterpillar found himself at the centre of global media attention and we were tasked to generate a second wave of impactful media coverage
What we did
we took Cuthbert to new heights by marking his ‘freedom’ and ‘back on shelf’ status, in a world first caterpillar cake skydive40,000ft above ground for charity, Teenage Cancer Trust, with his own JustGiving page
The result
The Cuthbert comeback stunt saw blanket national news coverage as well as M&S’ very own Ambassador, Amanda Holden, talking about (in her words) the ‘wonderful idea’ across the Heart Radio network with her co-host Jamie Theakston
Cuthbert cakes sold out nationwide and over £5000 raised via the JustGiving page.
