Clarion Crowns Winners of its Bright Sparks Creative Challenge

We are pleased to announce the winners of our first ever Bright Sparks Creative Challenge, Mia Anifowoshie (22) and Kiara Whyte (22), following a competitive process. The duo from University of Central Lancashire impressed a judging panel, consisting of the Head of Marketing at Wickes, Customer Interaction Manager at Aldi, as well as Clarion’s CEO, and Head of Creative.

The challenge invited creative PR and Marketing students to respond to a real-world brief set by Wickes, giving them a taste of the fast-paced, innovative work we deliver for clients.

As part of their prize, Mia and Kiara will receive a £1,000 cash award to share, as well as a two-week paid internship each at our agency, where they’ll gain valuable hands-on experience working with some of our clients.

Kiara commented: “Not only was I pleased to be given the opportunity to share our pitch, as well as meet the wonderful judges - I was also felt very lucky to watch all the other creative pitches and meet such lovely candidates. We were very shocked to win, not that I doubted our capabilities, but because everyone had put in such efforts and executed their pitches so excellently. I was really happy to work with Mia on this, and I am so happy we won in the end!”

Commenting on the winners, our CEO Amanda Meyrick said: “The winning pitch was insight-driven and customer-focused, which the judges really liked, as it showcased a deep understanding of the brief. It’s fantastic to see young talent with such a strong grasp of both creative strategy and customer needs. Congratulations to Mia and Kiara on this achievement - we look forward to welcoming them to the Clarion team soon.”

The Bright Sparks Competition was introduced as a future-focused initiative designed to cultivate the next generation of PR talent - helping towards our overall mission which is to produce clever work, and nurture clever people. What’s more, the competition is set to return next year, so, watch this space!
