Swipe Right on Wickes: Clarion Cures the Bathroom Selfie ‘Ick’
Published on:

This month, we launched a cheeky and highly relatable new campaign for home improvement retailer Wickes, tackling one of modern dating’s biggest dividers: the bathroom selfie.

From last-minute outfit checks to pre-date snaps, Britain’s bathrooms have quietly become the backdrop for millions of dating app profile pictures. However, our new research revealed that over six in ten Brits (62%) actually get the ‘ick’ from bathroom selfies. Despite this, nearly half (45%) of dating app users confess to taking or uploading one anyway!

To help the nation upgrade their selfie game and their bathrooms, our team worked with Wickes to launch dedicated ‘Bathroom Selfie Stations’ across selected UK stores this October. Having spotted customers occasionally using showroom displays as backdrops, we rolled out stations featuring flattering lighting, premium mirrors, and stylish settings, designed to help singles capture the ultimate swipe-right-ready profile picture.

To give the campaign expert backing, we teamed up with TV relationship expert and Clarion Advisory Board Member, Anna Williamson, alongside dating platform Breeze, to create the definitive ‘Bathroom Selfie Guide’.
